Section 01: Object record

Brasilia Credenza

A walnut credenza from Broyhill's Brasilia collection, United States, circa early 1960s.

The collection takes its name and its visual language from Brasília, Brazil's purpose-built modernist capital — the arched detailing on the drawer fronts and the shape of the pulls echo the curved forms of that architecture. The furniture itself was designed and produced by Broyhill.

The case holds three drawers across the center, flanked by a cabinet at each end, with one interior shelf inside each cabinet.

The hardware is the original brass-colored Brasilia pattern, specific to the line.

At 66.25 inches wide the piece works as a bedroom dresser or as a credenza in a living or dining room.
